Memory of You (9/4/11)

A Poem by Katseye

Memory of You

I have to admit,
I still love,
The memory of you.
I can't honestly say,
That I still,
Love you.

We walked for a time,
Hand in Hand,
Down the same road.
But our paths,
Were not a straight line.

Our roads diverged,
Somewhere in the past.
And the love we shared,
Just couldn't last.
As we went our separate ways.

Forced to realize,
Just how much...
We both have changed,
When standing before me,
Someone I held so dear.
Yet as I look,
In your eyes,
It's all so very clear.

I see before me;
A stranger,
wearing the face,
Of a lover so dear.

So how can I say...
I still love you,
When I don't even know,
Who you are?

Yet I know its true;
I still love,

The memory of you!
