Breaking a Heart (11/17/10)

A Poem by Katseye

Breaking a Heart

How do you...
Break a heart,
That's already...
Known such pain?

How can you...
Steal away,
One more joy,
One more comfort?

And tell me how...
Do you ease,
That same broken heart,
When yours shattered ,too?

Two innocent hearts,
Trusting in you,
To protect them,
See them through.

Loving soul,
Pain filled eyes,
Turn to me -
To make it right.

A broken body,
That just can't mend,
A trusting heart,
Asks for release.

A promise redeemed...
One trust maintained,
And one trust broken;
The only choice made.

To my child explain...
Her trusted playmate,
Beloved friend's,
Life's journey comes to an end.

awesome write friend. I like how it's brief crisp, and straight on.
