Where two worlds meet.
A Poem by
Katseye
Did you see it- Within the eyes, Of the dying wolf? Did you hear it- In the screams, Of the falling raven?Maybe a glimpse, Or a whisper; But didn't heed their warning. Have you ever- Danced with the grace, Of the eagle on wing? Have you ever- Heard the music, In the thunder?Maybe once, While walking a cliff's edge, In the line of fire. Did you feel it- Hidden within, The lighting's strike? Did you smell it- Within the bitter perfume, Of the decaying earth? Only the tingle of anticipation, The breath of the fallowed field, Awaiting the new day. Have you ever- Felt the peace, Of the deer resting in the meadow? Have you ever- Marveled at the sparkling trees, After the ice storm's passed? In my dreams, shining bright with hope. But living on the edge of danger, Always was my life. Ah... but- Didn't you sense it, In the depth of your fears? Didn't you taste it- In the salt of your tears? The fears- Drive my adventures, The tears, Remind me I have survived. So let me be your warrior, to stand between you and... The meaner things in life And I'll be your peace, So your battered soul, Can rest and heal.

enchanting fairy tale quality rich with the texture of the classic hero/heroine journey toward the self~ your descriptives are absolutey captivating and of a deep cinematic quality~ the overall mood is like a banquet of serenity offered to the weary traveler who'd forgotten how to see~ gorgeous poetic~

I have to say that of all the poems I've read recently, this has to be one of my absolute favorites. The line, "The fears - Drive my adventures..." is so true not only in my writing but in so many things that I have finally accomplished in my life, when I was originally frozen in fear. Pushing beyond those fears has been some of the best, and hardest, decisions in my life. Just...wow.
