I AM (8/11/99)

I AM (8/11/99)

A Poem by Katseye

I AM

I am one of,
The lost souls.
Those born;
Good, kind, and gentle.

Like so many now...
This life has made me hard.
Sometimes even crewel.

Innocesce stolen in childhood.
The anger of betrayal,
Plants its seed.
Hate and mistrust,
Its bitter fruit.

Yet the harvest is delayed.
I have come to know;
Someone who survived in this world,
Always as they began,
Despite all the world has done.

Maybe it's because,
They are needed;
Some have remained kind and gentle.

Those good souls,
This world just could noe break,
Could not destroy.

For their friendship,
I must believe...
There may yet remain,
A spark, with in me;

A spark of kindness,
Still buried deep.
I may yet be redeemed.

A lost soul,
Save by love.
