Echo  (July '99)

Echo (July '99)

A Poem by Katseye

Echo

There's an echo in my soul;
An echo of the one I love.
The feeling's sinilar,
Not quite as strong.
Like the echo of a sound,
Defused and indistinct.
I never realized before,
That a feeling can echo.
It's the echo of love,
I think I may be feeling.
For in the man before me;
I see an echo of the one I held so dear.
My beloved now,
Is so far from me.
And you my friend,
Are so near.
For my honor now,
I fear.
I must hold th my honesty,
Though this echo...
Threatens to overwelm me.
For you see,
My heart you might never touch.
I'm sorry dear friend,
I fear this may be the end.
Always will I love another.
