Who? (3/25/95)

Who? (3/25/95)

A Poem by Katseye

Who?

You dreamed of marring Her.
But never me.
You talked about a future for us.
I dreamed of being your wife.
Then you told me,
You never want to marry.
Just spend your life with one girl.
You didn't want a family,
More than two.
I wanted the two to be,
Me and you.
Though I wanted a child to love,
I loved you more.
Our future together,
I wanted you above all.

Then fate stepped in,
A mistake I made.
The mess I could not make right.
From me you took flight.

You never saw how it hurt,
When you spoke of Her;
The one so dear,
You wished to marry.
I would give you me life,
Knowing I would never become your wife.

The only reason you chose me,
Was my resemblance to Her,
You finally confessed.

I took flight then,
To one who offered me love.
Only too late did I realize,
It was a lie.
By then I could not stop,
What was to come.

Always knowing in my heart,
I could only love You.

Still I wonder,
Do you love Her more;
Than you loved me?

Did you ever really love me at all?
I will never know.
