Beauty and the Beast (1995)

A Poem by Katseye

Beauty and the Beast

In the time we had together,
We performed Beauty and the Beast.
You, you were Beauty.
I the beast.
The beast who learned too late,
Of your love.

Beauty's love was wasted,
On a beast who could never love.
Beauty silently slipped away.
Now I have lost all;
I knew of strength,
All I knew of courage.

Silently now my heart is calling:
Calling for my Beauty.
Vainly I call for you,
Vainly I try to find you,
For you are gone.
