Denial

Denial

A Poem by BehindTheMask

“Safe tucked away in a place called denial. Where love can’t hurt my heart.”

Tucked in tight like a baby getting put down for bed.

This is an argument that keeps running through my head.

I’m in denial there’s no hiding it

And when I believe myself I’ll be fine with it.

My love for you will do more than suffice

All I need to do is give myself some advice.

I know you don’t want to hear the same thing

“oh baby I love you, you make my heart sing.

You’re the best in the world and I’m the luckiest girl.

I want to be together forever no matter how dangerous hope may be.

You open my eyes and make me see, the light of life and forget the strife.

Let's runaway and never return, this is my remedy, don't let it burn."

Actions speak louder than words and fools rush in.

Most the time you can’t start over again.

Love, what a game we play.

Come out where ever you are.

We hide from the truth of the one we seek.

But I know I’m not in denial when I say

Theres a hole in my heart and its starting to leak.
