Feel Like MeA Poem by EliottTrigger Warning: depression, suicidality, sexual abuse
Do you feel like me
Well I hope you don’t Cause if you’re like me Then you’re on your own How can I be right When I’ve been so wrong How can I be here When I’m so far gone Do you feel like me When you can’t find home When the lights go out And you’re so alone Do you feel like me When it hurts like hell And you have nowhere And no one to tell Do you feel like me When you’re so in love But you fall apart And you’re not enough Do you feel like me When your body bleeds But it’s all okay Because no one sees Do you feel like me Every single day Waiting for it all To please go away Do you feel like me When you softly weep All the time you’re awake Wishing you were asleep Do you feel like me When you’re crying out And no one cares What you’re crying about Do you feel like me Trapped inside the past Every gasping breath Praying it’s the last Do you feel like me Like you don’t deserve For your tears to be seen Or your voice to be heard When you scream out loud And you’re saying no And he hears your voice But he won’t let go When you beg and pray For it all to end But he grabs you tight And begins again When you can’t escape When you close your eyes It plays over and over And you’re trapped inside In that memory In that horrible night And you’re not okay And it’s not alright You were just a child You were just a kid And you were broken By the things he did It was not your fault You know that it’s true But still you feel guilty For just being you How can I be clean After what he’s done How can I have the courage To tell someone How can I be right When he’s made it wrong How can I be here When I’m so far gone Do you feel like me Well I hope you don’t But if you’re like me You are not alone. © 2018 EliottAuthor's Note
