Lipstick Stain

Lipstick Stain

A Poem by Eliott

I danced with her
And she didn't say a word
But her eyes said a lot
And she smiled at the world

She laughed till she cried
But she never told me why
And I laughed along with her
And the sparkle in her eyes

She was beautiful
And she didn't even care
From the way that she moved
To her long brown hair
To her bright green eyes
And her perfect smile
She was happy
And I wanted to know why

She walked with me
She lead me to a stream
And she twirled me around
And she kissed me on the cheek

And a piece of her grace
Was left on my face
And I drew some joy
From the lipstick stain

She was beautiful
And she didn't even care
From the way that she moved
To her long brown hair
To her bright green eyes
And her perfect smile
She was happy
And I was starting to see why

And as she held my hand
She slid off my wrist band
And tied it in her hair
Leaving down a single strand

And she smelled like warmth
And she felt like safety
And she looked like love
And she danced like crazy

And then someone on a motorcycle came to pick her up
She winked at me whispered "goodbye"
I wanted to go with her but I wished her good luck
And watched her ride into the night

I didn't know her name
I didn't want her to leave
But now I have a piece of her
And she has a piece of me

Oh she was beautiful
And she didn't even care
From the way that she kissed me
To that loose strand of hair
To her contagious laughter
And her perfect smile
She was happy
And so was I
