Anorexia

Anorexia

A Poem by Eliott

She wore her collarbones like a necklace. Her ribcage a real cage, her spine was a ladder. Her hipbones were handlebars. Her jaw was sharp enough to cut her enemies, her cheekbones could catch her tears. Her lips were like rose petals longing for rain. Her eyes were two flames on the verge of burning out. Her stomach was an empty bowl. Her shoulder blades were her wings. Death had never been so beautiful.

A very poignant poem. Thank you for sharing. I myself have written a novel based on my own sister's eating disorder. It's always good to read of another's perception of this terrible disease.
