Slave's Nursery RhymeA Poem by Eliott
Ready or not
Here I come We are many We serve one We all fall down But none get up When I am dry You spit in my cup All for my master None for the rest I am better But you are the best Life's but a dream And I can't awake Thy kingdom come Thy kingdom break Lullaby And goodbye We go to sleep So we can die Close my eyes Take a breath So I can awake To living death Little boy blue Go ring your bell To warn the others They're entering hell You are rich We are poor I will serve you Forevermore Take our money Take our bread We are starving So you can be fed Hush, little children Don't say a word For once you have spoken You'll never be heard It's raining, it's pouring I'm standing outside Fetching your breakfast While you wait safe and dry If you're happy and you know it Then you're happier than I Three blind mice Have heard me cry Sing a song of sixpence Not a farthing for your men If your bridge is falling down We'll build it up again All for one And none for me Take my life And set me free Now I lay me Down to death My final words My final breath Take our money Take our bread We are starving I am dead Ready or not Here I come Once there were many Now there are none © 2014 EliottReviews
