Chances Are

Chances Are

A Poem by Phoenix Alleena
"

Free verse, whilst passing the time. Yeah :3

"

Chances Are

So things look dim right now.

I see a cloud above your head,

But don’t look down because

Chances are…

There’s more to look up to.

Perhaps the sun will shine

To bring a smile through the gloom.

I know that if you smile,

Chances are…

Your outlook will brighten.

Don’t fret about the path ahead.

Just walk it ever carefully,

Appreciate it for what it is, ‘cause

Chances are…

There’s something waiting at the other end.

If I smile just a bit more

Would it push the rain away?

There’s a spark in the air because

Chances are…

 I care.

I'm not sure I like the switch in the last stanza.

I think of unconditional love and support.

Great job, Katie! :D It's very hopeful and optimistic, both qualities I could really use right now. You have no idea how this brightened my day. ;)

The repetition of "chances are..." created a relaxed, patterned environment that carries the reader along. Beautiful poem.

I think it's to cheer someone up because it's really optimistic
