A freeverse poem study we did in creative writing class today.

September

 

 

September sure is a new start

Oh, of course, my last year here

Next step is college

Plus, more “Grown-Up” things.

 

The memories from freshman year

Still linger as if they happened yesterday

As for sophomore year, it was the best

Nothing too hard, like some devilish math final test.

 

Junior year went by so fast

Almost as if through a looking glass

A reflection of those years of old

But this time, with a face that’s grown.

 

Finally, we’re here again

Ready to go out into the world.

For seniors, graduates…whatever you’d say

September sure is a new start.
