Dear Haggie,

I’ve got a date tonight! One of the boys from our old school rang me up and asked if I was still in the old house. I said yes and he asked me out to dinner! I think I’ll wear the dress you bought me when I was little, it should fit me now I’m 17.

I’m not going to tell Joel… I don’t know why but I think it’ll upset him. I’ve asked our neighbour to keep an eye on him for me, Angie’s a lovely lady, and her daughter had schizophrenia and died recently, so she’s a little lonely and lost. She seems to love the idea of being needed again, I hope she doesn’t mother Joel too much.
