Dear Haggie,

I found a dead bird in the river today. Not a single mark on it. I will have the water tested in town next time I go in, make sure it’s safe for Joel and me to be near. I visited mum’s grave today, it’s been five whole years. I think she would’ve liked a funeral like the one we went to in June, she could’ve handled Joel when he got in one of his moods.

I hope you’re happy Haggie, I know this is what you’d have wanted for us both. We have each other now.
