Counting the stars

Counting the stars

A Poem by Katelynne Russell
"

It helps with stress

"
We sit on a blanket in the grass looking at the stars
Counting them
Loving them
Hoping they will never leave us for that moment
The night is calming
The stars are bright
Something then shoots across the sky
A shooting star
You then wish
Wish that we stay here in this moment forever
Forever counting the stars

I did indeed enjoy. This brief offering describes in simple but elegant terms one of those moments we all long to experience, the appearance of a shooting star on a clear night. The poem concludes with the speaker wishing to stay in the moment forever. Mindfulness is a wonderful thing, sometimes hard to achieve in our busy lives. We all should try to cultivate it. Nice work here.
