CityA Poem by Katie Kistler
it’s a big little city
for a girl to get lost in crazy how I think it’s pretty when it snows here so often but now I don’t relate it to desolate cold I think of the Japanese garden park when we were 23 years old it’s like watching the paint dry I still have that canvas still got the dishes I can’t eat out of and I’ll never understand it but I’ll keep them forever in my cardboard box of treasures it’s a big little city for love to get lost in there are so many people and I think about them often where are all of the mistakes that I never made all of the years that I could have put to waste lucky that I found you when I did lucky…or would you call it fate? destiny…you and me? divinely intertwined or meant to be? whatever you believe I believe in you and me © 2023 Katie KistlerReviews
