Playing From Another Room

Playing From Another Room

A Poem by Katie Kistler
"

Teen party experiences ft. unrequited love

"
Oh no
Saw you at the party with my Lolo
Don’t you know she’d rather stick it solo?
At least that’s what she told me back
at home
Let’s go
We both got a different kind of MO
I’m trying to make her laugh at all my bad jokes
Make her feel a little bit more comfortable

But you’re on your knees with her trying to rush things
I know she didn’t come with you and I bet that stings
Lately I’ve been dying to tell her exactly what it is I think
It sounds something like:

“You’re next to me
Can you tell that I’m thinking of
You should be running away
I’m next to you
And I wish you were thinking of
Me but I know there’s no way
Anyways, if I asked
Would you stay?”
