Bárbara

Bárbara

A Poem by Katie Kistler

Barbara, throw me a vinyl
I want to see what makes you smile
I want to know just what it sounds like in your head
And Barbara, I’d drive miles
Just to set my sights on trial
Sizes of the girl who makes my heart stop dead

So spin that pretty record that I saw you cop today
You were whistling the lyrics and I was whispering your name
Barbara, I want to know your face
To see your freckles laid out just like all the stars in space
But I don’t know if that could ever be my place?
So let me know if all the running‘s worth the chase

Delightful read. Great starting and ending lines. favs: vinyl smile, whispering whistling, I want to know your face. It's been a while since I've heard of someone "cop"-ping something- that was fun. I hope the chase was wonderful and that Barbara slowed just enough to be caught.
