Decay

Decay

A Poem by Katie Kistler

Ostracize me, heaven help me
Six feet under, staying healthy
I'm fine
I've been here for some time
Honey, I'm fine
But if you feel inclined

Dig me up and build a coffin
Send me off still looking like a dime
Yeah, I still look alright
Honey, it's fine
I'd still rot in due time

And I can decay without you
Escape you even if it turns me blue
For when I'm dust and bones you won't be through
With me
So leave me be
For a year or two or three
So I can decay without you
