Four

Four

A Poem by Katie Kistler

I saw a boy with a face like glass
Hardly there and barely intact
I saw the space inside his hands
Where her fingers used to be
I know a girl with a mind like wind
Never knows where it's going but it's sure to win
I saw it stop at a faded grey tinted
Stone where her memory lays

I saw a man with a concrete chest
Thin pressed mouth and a charcoal vest
I saw the blue that knew him best
Better than anyone else
I have a friend with a dozen graves
Of four legged friends and she can list the names
I saw her fall apart today
She never falls for anything else

I don't usually read poetry, but I stumbled upon this and...wow. The emotion in this, the freestyle rhyme...wow. I was really impressed. Amazing! I can think of a face for every person in here and it just makes it better...I'm amazed this is so good!
