SolsticeA Poem by Katie KistlerL
Late fall, didn’t notice you
That’s all Boy, was I a fool To keep my distance til The seasons changed at will I see you again Before the sun turns red Oh, my summer friend Can’t wait to see you again Again The lack of light does me in And I don’t know where to begin Just let the sun shine On my summer friend Dead cold, deadly lethargy I’m told, it’s no good for me To stay inside all day But I can’t get away From you that soon It feels like ten more full moons Oh, my summer friend Can’t wait to see you again Again The lack of light does me in And I don’t know where to begin Just let the sun shine On my summer friend © 2018 Katie Kistler |
