A Poem by Katie Kistler

I came back to see you
But I didn't try that hard
There was more that I could do
With grandpa's debit card
But you paid to see me
So I'll put on a show
I'll pretend that I wanna be here
And that I'm sad to go

I swore it was forever
That I could live my whole damn life
Tied up with the shivers
Of doubt that's creeping up my spine
But I took a step back
I'm looking at your face
Have you seen you lately?
You're growing up but you don't change

And I can't stay in one place too long
I'm so sick of all the same songs
That you play when we all hang out
Three years too long so I'm done now
