Unstoppable Force / Immovable Object

Unstoppable Force / Immovable Object

A Poem by Katie Kistler

I could look at you
in pastel rays of sun
in winter's early fog"
write "I love you"
in the condensation of your window
and kiss the corner of your jaw"
but it would not be enough

the squeak in your breath
and the quirk of your lips,
the arch of your brow
and your fingertips
stirring goosebumps against my skin"
is still not enough

those pretty, lilting eyes
could flutter about my face"
could settle for hours
as I wander inside
and poke around in your rib cage"
right above your heart"
and yet...
it could never be enough

for you are an unstoppable force
and I am but a moveable object
