I'd Like To KnowA Poem by Katie KistlerAbby
Tonight, tonight
I'm thinking of your eyes And how brown they are And the sound of your voice All those pretty little freckles Scattered on you cheeks Wondering if anyone Has noticed before me Tonight, tonight You made me feel so warm And it's cold outside I'm shivering and all I can think about Is just some hours past You made me think about How long this could last Oh, do you like me? Do you really want to know? Do you want to explore All the places we could go? Cause I might like you And I'd really like to know If in another couple months I might be calling you my own Last Friday night You held me for a glance And I just seemed to notice That I don't recall your hands It was the rush of the moment The sounds all muddled in The spices on my tongue It's made the memory dim Last Friday night The turmoil in my head It made me second guess you And everything you said Too good to be true Trying to cling to that thought But you just keep on being you And now that thought is lost Oh, do you like me? Do you really want to know? Do you want to explore All the places we could go? Cause I might like you And I'd really like to know If in another couple months I might be calling you my own I'd really like to know What I'll say about your eyes When I see how bright they glow In a winter sunrise I'd really like to know If you want to get too close Dig around in my heart Until you've made yourself a home © 2017 Katie Kistler |
