StepA Poem by Katie KistlerL
Ever since I was a little girl
I've been singing to girls named Sylvia Because Dirty Dancing was my favorite movie So Sylvia, come and dirty dance with me Ever since I started smoking cigarettes I've really only smoked Marlboro red hundreds Cause that was what was smoked by all my friends But I wish I found a cigarette that fit the want inside my head Best friends never were my cup of tea I would latch myself to people Thinking they'd give me what I need but I have got to find things for myself I've got a long, long list of dreams That only cater to myself and my well being So I step Step, step, step On the stepping stones Jump from place to place I jump alone Time is the price I've got to pay For traveling to my home Step, step, step, step I step alone Jump from place to place I jump alone Time is the price I have to pay In looking for a home Ever since I got back it's been clear That I am not in love with you I never was in love with you Infatuation messed me up, my dear My dear, dear friend I'm glad to say it always has an end And staying always seemed the way to go But now I've stayed too many days And I need something more So tell me that you'll miss me when I'm gone I know I'll miss the good times And I hope that I'm not wrong When I think that you might have a missing piece For a year or two or three And it probably will be me Cause family don't ever cut their ties I've tied my little finger to yours for all time But I'll still step Step, step, step On the stepping stones Jump from place to place I'll jump alone Time is the price I've got to pay For traveling to my home Step, step, step, step I step alone Jump from place to place I jump alone Time is the price I have to pay In looking for a home © 2017 Katie Kistler |
