Girls or Boys?

If I had a girlfriend
She'd pray for white walls
She's pray for laughter
She'd pray for peace
She'd pray for no insecurities
And dream of safety for her and me

But if I had a boyfriend
He'd pray for nothing
Cause we'd be safe and sound
We wouldn't have to go to bed to shake the day
Or cautiously look around
To see if relatives are watching
As we steal a little kiss
We are not under a microscope
But we'd be drowning in holy piss

And I want a girlfriend
We'd go to churches
And we would marvel at the art
And we would splash the holy water
We would never break apart
She would hold me close and whisper
That our love is not a sin
Then she would call it out on busy streets
And lift my lowered chin

And we'd sing
Love is love
And that's enough
To get us through the day
Love is love
But only one
Person can make me stay
And that's you
It's you
