A Heart for a HeartA Poem by Katie Kistler
Once upon a time in Minnesota
I met a girl who needed space She liked to walk around and wallow In all of her warranted mistakes But this girl was shipped away To a city that she'd left A city where she'd stay And catch up on her rest And I just want to let her go And I don't want to know That she is the piecing piece In all I've ever known Once upon a time in Seattle I waited for a girl to show She liked to travel and she liked to talk About trivial things you know But this girl was not so simple And she kept a level head Her voice was made from riddles as She smirked at me and said I don't want to let you go And I would never guess That you were the missing piece To fill my empty chest © 2015 Katie Kistler |
