Coveted By the NightA Poem by Kate H
Oh darkness, do you bear no lethargy from lashing out, thrusting yourself at those with lost or lonesome souls?? You bring or afford no comfort as if you lack any sparing of such. Instead, one is left to blunder within the exhaustion of your presence and there are no mere expressions of happiness, joy, smiles or even the likelihood of possibility. Simply a barren, lurid mass, for one to so easily become lost in, you are.
In the very hours of your own personal wake, while those amongst the living slumber, you are a far cry from silent in your solitude and your delirious, dismal mourning cannot hence be unheard. You settle and encompass all, with the heavy shade that can only be truly prompted by you. As I am coveted within each of your promising returns, all I plead is that, just for one of your reoccurrences, your weeping be silenced, so that I may again close my eyes, rest my thoughts and succumb to an adoption of dreams and near serenity that are most assuredly meant for me. © 2015 Kate HReviews
