Secrets Kept

Secrets Kept

A Poem by Kate H

- Wild thoughts, they run through my head, like a monster unleashing, that hasn't been fed. - Image after image, flash after flash, a pain in my stomach like a gaping gash. - - Shaking, nervousness , and numb to the bone. Fiercely sudden in arising is the feeling of being alone. - A dreadful thing, it disrupts my nights. It engulfs my body as if I'd signed up my own rights. - Overbearing darkness, not a single sound. Frantic, I search for an exit but it's nowhere to be found. - Weeping, trying to hide, I'm scared of it all then, slowly I depart and begin to fall....Clinching my fists, I give in to sleep, telling no one my secrets, for they are mine to keep!
