EnigmaA Poem by Kate H
What almost was, will never be...
Days time eviscerates, as do the memories and what could have been is merely a part of what is now passed. Carrying a torch for the cause, even a candles wick will be an eventual burnout, smoldering and becoming nothing more than unrecognizable of remains. Did you know that I once loved?? This love, it pricked like thorns yet the fragrance of a sweet rose was, still is, ever present. Pricks from these thorns leave scars that serve as reminders - even the most seemingly pleasant scents can be deceitful, much like mementos that even the heart will perceive as defined due to what may be attractive, alluring to the eye. Let not the hearts giving precede the enigma of love, for it too, can be lead by blindness. © 2014 Kate H |
