Moonlit Salutations

Moonlit Salutations

A Poem by Kate H

Songs of evening crickets, people swiftly moving along to get to their desired destination. The harsh sun retreats, at last presenting mercy on a sweltering day. As what once was merely a shadow in the light, turns to darkness as the sun briefly retires it's shift.
The stars, the moon- emerge from the persistent covering of blue skies and white "over stuffed", clouds. All the world seems settled at this moment in time. A consoling peace at the envisioning of a mother tucking her child safely, warmly into bed or a father reciting a bedtime story to, what so seemingly, is the apple of his eye.
Mother Nature's compassionate, nurturing components seem visible on this night and more so as the lightest, most aromatic of breezes, sweep the hair from my face and the salutations of the moonlight awakens even the most secluded of treetops, darkest of meadows, pastures and fields.
Calm serenity is not at all a heavy burden, instead, a yearning by the night. This atmosphere, wraps it's arms around me, invites me into it's core. My skin, thoughts, presence - are one with this night, and I wholly embrace it. I am greatly intertwined yet, mysteriously drawn to the majestic powers of this nights seemingly, maternal comfort.

One of the best poem I read after a long time. This poem is a prose poem; but the feel and rthym is exceptional and I am suprised by so many things in your poem. All stanzas are perfect and I can describe this poem as a song of nature. I am really blown away by this poem. What a line here ``the sun briefly retires it's shift. '''
Another beautiful line ``A consoling peace at the envisioning of a mother tucking her child safely, warmly into bed or a father reciting a bedtime story to, what so seemingly, is the apple of his eye.''
You have done an exceptional job here and I am speechless here...With Much Respect & Love Sayed
