Swift Lessons

Swift Lessons

A Poem by Kate H

No more tears in streams, like the pouring of the rain. Instead, a heart of stone like structure, with now, a numbness to the pain.
Life will make a shift, here and there a turn. Be swift to learn from a lesson, for fire proceeds the burn!
Be quick on your feet, accept heartache as lessoned pride, remain true to your solidity, all haste feelings aside.
This life is accompanied by downsides, the hardest lessons of the sort. So, don't exhaust to change the things you can't, you'll sell yourself short!

Reading your "About in the column to the right" and some of your works, I can tell you that you are loving and very caring. Your poetry says a lot about you and I'm sure you are a wonderful mother. It seems to me that you speak to your children, and this is why your words are so powerful and loving. Beautiful!

wise words indeed...I have sort of dabbled with PROSE POETRY, I cannot say that I like it. But I am a rhymer of comedic verse so maybe that explains it...These words though I found to be quite profound..Thank you
