Ripples on the WaterA Poem by Katie MarieOn rainy days,
I stare at the pond. I watch the ripples on the water, As the rain falls gently down over me. With my arms outstretched, I feel the wind flow through me. It rejuvenates me, Making me feel new in this old body. I am older than you could imagine, Yet still thriving. I am part of history itself even. And I have been in this place For hundreds of years. For hundreds of years I have watched, Watched as the seasons changed, Watched more sunrises and sunsets than you could imagine, And watched the ripples on the water, During every rain. I am the willow. © 2012 Katie MarieAuthor's Note
