A Story by Katie Marie

This is the story of a girl, who's name I will not reveal.
This girl has lived almost her whole life in the same small town.
She has two siblings.
A brother,
And a sister.
Both of her siblings are older than her.
Her brother is 6 years older than her,
Her sister is 4 years older.
The girl's parents are happily married.
They both have jobs.
Her mother is a teacher.
Her father is an engineer.
The girl's brother has already moved out of the house.
He is 21 now.
The girl's sister will be graduating from high school this spring.
She is almost 19.
Her brother has no job.
He gets money from social security.
Her sister also doesn't have a job,
And gets money the same way.
They both have mental disabilities.
Her brother has Asperger's Syndrome.
Her sister has autism.
The girl,
Although she is the youngest,
Has always had to act as the big sister.
She always wondered why her parents would leave her in charge of the house,
When they went out.
She figured it out as she got older.
She also saw,
As she got older,
All the people that would laugh at something her brother or sister would say.
She saw how people would avoid talking to them.
She saw how people would tease them,
Just because it would amuse their friends.
She saw how people would make fun of them,
Behind their backs,
And in front of their faces.
People would tell the girl that they felt sorry for her,
And that they couldn't imagine living with her brother or sister.
That would just make the anger bubble up,
And then burst.
She hates when people say that to her.
No one should feel sorry for her.
There's no way anything could change,
And she never needs it to change.
Sure,
She had to grow up a little quicker than her peers,
But that is not a bad thing.
It has opened her eyes to the real world.
She doesn't just see the "normal" people,
But also the others.
The other people that don't fit in,
Because people won't except them.
She understands those people,
Even when others can't.
The girl loves her family,
No matter what.

This is the story of a girl, and I'm sure that you can guess who the girl, who's name I would not reveal, is.
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
I'm sure the girl appreciates it greatly.

Very long poem. Great though. just ignore those people saying that. They must not understand what the girl is going through. Keep writing!

Not just seeing the normal people. acknowledging everyone. that's what life's about in the end. the girl ( ;) ) just learnt that faster.
I loved this. maybe you could change the format though. and talk more about it. dig out some real experiences to add. but anyway, this was fantastic as it was! i agree with sarusai... you.. oops. the girl, is truly courageous.. :)

And that makes 'the girl' truly courageous; hers is not blind faith, but true acceptance, of faults and virtues both - undemanding, unconditional love. I find her worthier of admiration than many gilded as saints by the world.
