Think...

Think...

A Poem by Katie Marie

Every day,
I sit in this chair,
And try to think,
Of something to write.
I look out of this window,
And see the same things,
Snow,
Stop,
Tree,
Speed Limit 15,
Cross Walk,
Parking Lot,
Cars,
House,
Street.
I always seem to want,
To write about snow.
I'm not sure why.
Maybe it is because,
Every little flake is unique,
Maybe it is because,
It is so beautiful,
But so harsh at the same time.
Maybe it is because,
There is so much of it,
That there are endless things to write about.
Maybe...
That is a good idea to write about.
Maybe,
Can be a promise.
Maybe,
Can be a dream.
Maybe,
Can be an unsure idea.
Maybe,
Can mean yes.
Maybe,
Can mean no.
There are many things maybe can mean.
So why not,
Just say what we mean to say?
Well,
Sometimes we use maybe,
Because we aren't sure what to say.
Hmmm...
Something to write about...
I've been going on and on...
What if...?
That would be a great poem...
What if...,
Life were perfect?
What if...,
No one ever lied?
What if...,
No one could do any wrong?
What if...?
What if...?
What if...?
Such a simple question.
I'm sure you ask this of yourself,
Just as much as I do.
There are questions like,
What if...,
Humans could fly?
Or,
What if...,
I could breathe underwater?
Those are what if's,
that could never happen.
But...
What if they could?
What would the human race be like,
If those what if's,
Were to come true?
I can't tell you.
You have to use your imagination.
Imagination...
Haha,
I remember,
When i was probably about,
10 or 11 years old,
I made a song with a friend.
We called it imagination.
I look back at it now,
And laugh.
I still remember how the song went,
And I'm sure this friend does too.
The first line of the refrain,
Went like this...
"Imagination, Imagination, The way all people think."
There is truth in this line...
All people have an imagination,
It is just the way we were born.
If there was no imagination,
There would be no fiction books,
There would be no funny movies,
There would be no art.
Art.
Most think of art,
As paint on a piece of paper.
But art has so many forms.
An engineer is an artist,
A clothing designer is an artist,
A writer is an artist.
Poems,
Books,
Plays,
Those are all pieces of art,
Done by writers.

Well,
I know this is kind of a funny spot to end,
But I have to finish the poem at some point...

Haha Katie, I love this :) I remember reading this before, but I never had time to review it :p Yeah, all these other people who commented are right. You made a wonderful poem out of literally nothing besides your train of thought. And the end of the poem made me laugh out loud, which granted me funny look from my mother :p I like how you just stopped on a random statement with no other significance in it than every other line in this poem. It was just so you, it felt like we were having a regular conversation, my part of it cut out :p
Great job :)
see ya at school ;)

Yes! I can relate, but who can't? The thing you've gotta know is you can make a poem/story out of ANYTHING ^_^
