The Chair

The Chair

A Poem by Katie Cullen

"She has good bones"
the antiques dealer said

Her arms worn
by ages of hands
caressing, enjoying
the curves of
Her smooth silhouette

Her seat now
threadbare cowhide
spent by the
engraved rivets
adorning backsides
of many a cowboy
seeking his repose

"She has good bones"
said the refined, willowy man
with the etched face
and leathered hands

"I shall take Her,
and make Her a home."
