Saline

Saline

A Poem by Kathy Mc Cathy
"

Something very dear to my heart ! Speaks about my current ongoing experiences .

"
Salty lemonade drips to her rosy lips ,
Citrus twirls to her palpable shouts ,
Her eyes quench with a thirst , they rip,
The lines of her cheeks ached by a whip .

Her tongue claims the saline with swirls,
Toiling downwards with tumbling burns ,
The stiff lumps contract the whirls ,
As her eyes melt at her mother's pearls .

My belated condolences on your mom; hard to fathom momms' departures, hard to swallow the bitter pills dealt to us. Pray that you are united one day.
A powerful, expressive poem.

All true and well articulated. You are welcome Kathy.
The final line is full of love. Salt has a sting to it. Perhaps a relationship here has been put under strain. Illness can do that. I thought of dementia and how that can sting real hard. Good to read you again Kathy.
