Perfecting Perfection

Perfecting Perfection

A Poem by Kathy Mc Cathy
"

Beauty is not perfection and Ugly no perception

"

Perfectionism is a clock that keeps running the same

The ticking sound is endless and to the dot and never off

Dull and monotonous is the life of this rusty old clock

Whose minute hand keeps ticking and goes on and on

Confined inside these lonely walls

A world outside with risks and intrigue and fun

Those minutes can free themselves but they don’t want to

Why risk something to ruin this tedious perfection

Perfection isn’t what is interpreted as

It’s not being faultless or without any blunders

Its being the best of yourself and appreciating like that

Perfection is being able to see the nature’s wonders

Beauty is not perfection and Ugly no perception

For those are comparative terms

Being said to be ugly compared to God

Is the biggest praise of all

Just be who you are , don't lose sight of it for it is the only thing which is unique in this world . We don't wanna live in the world of clones .

My least favorite bad habit of writers is when they portray every love or sensual situation in terms of totally perfect bodies & performances & feelings. Your poem tells life like it is (((HUGS)))

...another poetic-treat that is uniquely you :) the way you animate Minutes by giving them a mind and a choice (which, in monotony, they waste) ~ Who but you could have come up with it? Brilliant! :)

I wrote a poem once Kathy where my opening line was

I love you for your imperfections

We are all unique and how boring it would be if we were cloned. We are all different. Those differences are what make us. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem. Penned beautifully, I might add.
