Chills in FallA Poem by Kathy Mc CathyWaking up in the morning , graced by the presenceThe wintry shades leaving an impression of the leaves As summer passes away and a brief welcome on the winter’s eve The freezing air with a soft warm sun , the warmth a memento of basking in the glow in the months How time has fluttered so far , the frost lingering on the leaves Waking up in the dew-wrapped morning , graced by the presence Of winter knocking on my door , I leave it waiting for a second To grab all my clothes and wrap it around myself So the winter doesn’t blow away my warmth , in its presence Any bare skin unchecked leaves chills down my spine, an unwanted present © 2021 Kathy Mc CathyAuthor's Note
