Looking through the Lens

I spy with my little eye “ a cloud in the shape of a lollipop “ 

Seeing the sunset and the auburn sky is something I adore

Looking at the positive is something i’ve heard a thousand times 

Usually in lyrics , quotes , speeches or rhymes 

Life’s a perspective , looking at it in a idiosyncratic way 

Each one’s a bit different in every other way 

Whether it’s enjoying the smallest moments or looking at the bigger picture

Or maybe even viewing it as a permanent fixture 

People say its only one lens you look it through , 

But believe me its more than two 

Sometimes you feel miserable , you look at the world’s gloom and doom

Sometimes a bit cheery and joyful , you enjoy the world in its bloom 

It’s you who it depends to look the world , the way it is , All is fair 

Because to me nothing is perfect , it has its joy , anger and despair 

Looking at the positives is something I don’t force but encourage 

Why fill yourself with negative when you can fill it with something better 

My looking glass is my own to share , 

Through my thoughts , my poems filled with love and care

Inspiration is the looking through someone else’s lens

Being influenced the right way and not just from the modern trends

WOW! I'm kinda glad my mind does not go in this full-steam-ahead mode! This feels like an onrush of ideas & observations . . . not in a bad way . . . but possibly a little hard to follow without some breaks in the reading action. I do this too. I forget to give the reader some resting points . . . smaller lines . . . one word lines . . . spacing to slow down the pace of a rampant spill. These are the things I think of as I read this. I'm not saying you need to do this. I'm just saying I know I need to (((HUGS)))

The thoughts here are uplifting. We have to focus on the small things that can make us happy. The overall picture can be too much sometimes. Yes the overall picture can be negative so our positivity comes in the snippets of life. I was reminded how much the offer of a cup of tea or a gift of flowers can change a dark mood. Lovely poem.
