Goosebumps

Up I go on the whirling stairs , 

The crackling voices go louder 

Each step , on the sole of my loafers

The sinister noises make me  flounder 

Mustering some courage , I tiptoe all the way 

A pumpkin carved with gnarly teeth couldn't keep my wariness at bay 

Arachnids crawling out the window 

As the thunder roars its presence

Ferociously banging , the flaps of the window 

I bet the shadows lurking in the niches & corners were feeling quite complacent

Lit a candlestick , to blow my chills away 

But Alas , the stormy breeze from the window blew the flame away

I scurry to go to fireplace  

And lay near to feel the warmth 

Is the picture of my younger self winking at me ?

Is that the honest truth ?

I think ive got goosebumps and i know you’ll get them too 

The betraying of your mind from reality and delusions parading 

Leaving you in a trance , like Alice in the hole , shrinking the truth 

And the last thing you need is a grumpy , scary BOO
