Concealed Illusions

Concealed Illusions

A Poem by Kathy Mc Cathy

People talk about human worth ,

It’s either looks or intelligence ,

But what matters is nothing but soul in this world

Its beauty and its magnificence

What we have right now is a cover ,

To the brightly concealed gift

What matters is the present not the wrapping paper used to cover it

We get attracted to the one that has shimmer and glimmer ,

Its seems so  beautiful and seems to have much more worth

What matters is the love and the care to put the present not the attracting magnetic exterior

To know yourself is to paint a vivid window to your soul ,

Near the conscious lane , Down the subconscious lane and take a thoughtful stroll

Its variant shades , tints and hues of your qualities , likes and dislikes

Like the rare patterns of the sky , its own idiosyncratic star and stripes

Body is just a book cover , soul is the pages of the book

Soul’s the inner beauty , body ‘s just the outer looks

But the point of a body is having something to care about

Having the feeling u can’t live without it

The meaningful part of life is nothing but death

You get rid of the body , nothing matters not even wealth

Life ‘s a journey to find people you care about as you travel along the road ,

To share a  life with them after death in the God’s Abode

Its where people see the real you , your shining glorious spirit

Everything that is the real you , when all the illusions are down , It's worth feeling it

Very wise words. It's a shame that we live in a time that beauty is defined by unattainable ideas. Social media and entertainment in general really has captured and locked in what people should strive for in their journey to be beautiful. All of it fake and unrealistic. People's noses buried into their smartphone they have forgotten how to even interact with one another on a social level let alone personal one. If you have wealth money can buy you the enhancements needed to look gorgeous, perfect, beautiful. But what it can't purchase is a better soul and humanity. Thank you for sharing this illuminating poem.

Holy avocado! This is like an answered prayer. I was reading some "standard Christianeze" sounding poetry yesterday & I was wishing such boring fare could be more inventive & imaginative & dynamic . . . like this! This is the perfect example of what I wished I could've been reading, instead. I never knew where this poem was going, as I was reading (a good thing, to be spontaneous), but each new turn revealed something more interesting & more attractive about your point of view (((HUGS)))
