A Poem by Wallflower
"

Love Conquers All

"

Fickle affection from frantic hearts,
Futile attempts to fill,
The gaping holes between the parts,
which we partially conceal.

So we infuse instead of question,
Refusing to infer,
Why it is that this mere suggestion
of Love cannot conquer.

I felt like some crazed love-object templar when I read this. "Because," says the Templar. "I have conquored myself and am to Love a lost cause." Isn't it the pursuit of Love that is the most exciting part of it? And so he or she who denies love ensures better sport for the love-driven pursuer. Of course a clever player will refuse to pursue. This will utterly confuse the love quarry. Playing with love but never actually giving or getting it is quite the game.

An intelligent and cleanly written piece which has a depth which is not as simply penetrated as its length might suggest. Succinct and profound, perhaps is a better way of putting it - but I don't think that does it justice. There is a studied thought process which is conveying a very complicated meaning very subtly. And I think the subject matter is a very subtle and complicated one - although most people I think will dismiss even the merest thought or consideration for it. But this poem explores the real complexities of this supposed simplicity. To probe between the very bones of a feeling and express a diagnosis in intellectual and poetic terms must therefore be regarded as Art.

here we are, locked in our partiality, wondering why everything is so partial

Much like a first kiss, we trust are heart to know love
and we leap into a new world...

And so Rumi said - A thousand half loves must be forsaken to take one whole heart home...

a simply elegant query. Two souls touching, grasping, holding on...It shouldn't be this difficult. The intricate dance, the scrupulously erected barriers, the complex games. It's a lot for a little thing like love to hurdle over.

Wonderful write.
