Collateral Damage

Collateral Damage

A Poem by Wallflower

Ignorance is bliss;
Figures, i chose this
Higher Learning s**t.
My mind's too well equipped
For simplicity;
My wit,
Like a whip,
Won't call it quits.

It may be the death of me
Unless i grasp some clarity
And see where it could take me,
Make me

Or break me,
I know I must tread carefully;

For I fear that,

Rather than a masonry,

I’ll break myself down

To the ground

Into mere pieces

Of ancient great debris.

A truly creative mind trying to fit inside the "round hole" of traditional education. Frustrating, and terrifying to think those rigid structures could wear away the sharp edges that make for passion, talent.

Judging from the perfection with which you paced this poem, I think you're in no danger of losing your magic. Great write.

Witty piece of writing, and I felt a tinge of genius dripping from this poem. You've done it again. Great stuff.

better to roll along like the tumbling tumbleweed, than push that heavy rock up the hill
