Despicable, demonic, Downright disdain. Passionless, platonic, in communal domains. Condemned to this nature By epistemic claims From the ivory tower where The detached defame.
How dare you self-centeredly Pursue your own name When inward endeavors Serve no greater gain.
Not in this country, Not in this day, Not when your questions Will lead you astray And the answers you'll find Will reveal the decay, Boys n' girls 'self-centeredness' Is the word of the day And it spells an intolerance Of revolutionary ways.
Careful consideration, Contemplation of content. A reflection without lexicon, A name's unnamed assent. Free to be an ontology Without theories of contempt, A reality that centers me Without the circumferent.
How dare you stain self-centeredness With the dirt of modern war, A pestilence that sprays from arms Aiming at the core Of each and every self center Until centered selves are no more.
Not in this being, Not in this life, Not when i've vowed My Self to this strife, To battle the fringes From this cipher I fight, To live all my days Basking In self-centered light.
Oh, the rhyme in here is brilliant. It bubbles throughout the piece. You have done a tremendous job in portraying a contrarian view. Reasonable self-interest is good, desirable even, for it exhorts us to better ourselves and go beyond our perceived limits. This poem reminded me of the book, The Fountainhead. Loved this as much as I loved that book though I believe some of the ideas therein are debatable.
Everyone is self-centered. It's just the radius that varies - Anonymous
Beautiful depiction of shining sun within self
Admirable individuality
But not at the expense of another
It seems the heated core is selfish more
Than the night before
Baking in oppressive oven
Termed basking in self-centered light
Seemingly affright
Determined to fight
All days and nights alone
Alone shall always be
Friend
I immersed in your thought
Now assume selfish pose
You s**t
I s**t yet invite others to join
You wish to occupy the throne alone
So be it
dear
You bite the hand
That reaches to touch yours
You rip the heart from soul
Crying to beat in harmony
With you it is only you
You adore and only you
You will to adore you
Strong self you are
Needs be
I admire you
friend
