School of Slumber

School of Slumber

A Poem by Wallflower

Why is it

That the sober sting

Of ‘I told you so’

Doesn’t hurt enough to teach.

The lesson always sleeps;

It’s a wake, we watch.

The exception makes

The cost, is mine.

Awaken, My Divine.

That sober sting needs venom.

I’m drunk, and so a fool.

‘Told You So” Vendetta

No exceptions to the rule.

The lesson sleeps on you

Tonight, I am alive and well.

I am a life, and I’ll live it well.

I have my life, and it’s well

Come.

And I am thankful.
