The idea of lust attaining the least bit of love
Painfully excites me
Runs chills down to my core
The idea that a kiss could hold such compassion
Melts every fiber throughout my being
To be able to look past those eyes like galaxies
Pupils like supernovas pulling me in
Teaching me the intricacy of love at first sight
But as soon as I think those three words might
Roll off of your tongue saccharinely,
Both your eyes and mouth shut
Forever containing the secret
But you see,
I got lost somewhere
Between love and lust;
Your physical touch
Breaking barriers I've never seen,
Although your heart holds me
With a grasp
No fingers could bare.
Hi, Kathryn! : )
It's only Richard, come to welcome you to the site and read some of your well-struck poetry.
This luring piece draws the reader into your moment with deep metaphorical emotion, sensual desire, and tender touches upon the senses in ways few have the knack of painting such vividly impacting word pictures.
To my mind's-eye, this ability takes actually feeling that which your words express.
This tells me a lot about You, the person, the poetess, something compelling about your mind, heart, and soul, and I very much like what I see.
Thank you most graciously and sincerely, Kathryn … hugs to thee! ⁓ Richard : )
PS: Love the title, too!
