Want to See Your Face

Want to See Your Face

A Poem by RyndiannaJones
"

A poem of seeing God in you, instead of your own selfish desires/the world.

"

I see my reflection

and I quickly look away.

I'm sickened by the face

that looks my way.

I pretend not to hear

the names said at school;

I won't let these tears

proclaim me a fool.

When I look in the mirror

I wanna see Your eyes.

When I look in the mirror

I wanna forget their lies.

I glare at my image

And see all my pain-

betraying my cold mask-

watching tears pour like rain.

I turned away angry

and looked upon my LORD

and I realized something that day...

I've been living by the sword.

I've been missing the light,

the love and grace,

I want to look in the mirror...

I need to see Your face.

When I look in the mirror

I wanna see Your eyes.

When I look in the mirror

I wanna forget their lies.

I glare at my image

And see all my pain-

betraying my cold mask-

watching tears pour like rain.

Give me hope!

Give me grace!

Wrap me in

Your warm embrace!

Bring me love!

Bring me rain!

To wash away

all the pain!

Show me who You are

when I look inside.

Calm my storm

and bring the tide!

Reveal Your truth!

Release my pain!

Give me Your heart!

Keep me sane!

I want to se You

When I look in the mirror

I want to see You

I want to see You.

N'aww! A poem about crushed self-images and low self-esteem. :'( I hate sadness...
One thing, (a semantic) on the last verse you seem to have missed out an 'e'...
